Gouge Sharpening Jig

I had just recently received a set of 9 gouges.

They are in need of reshaping and a good cleanup. I only have my Worksharp and Tormek for shaping and sharpening. So I aquired an eight inch bench grinder from Harbor Freight.

With the addition of the grinder, I needed a good sturdy tool rest for grinding my gouges. I built a jig on the grinder for resting my tools on. I also needed a way toΒ  sharpent the gouges evenly on the grinder and the Tormek. Tormek sells a wonderful little multi jig for this purpose. I choose to make one instead.

I am so ready to get this full set of gouges in a usable condition. The things I want to carve.

Most of the gouges are set in cannel. I will be regrinding the to out cannel because of the ease of sharpening.

Thank you for your time. Leave a comment if you would.

Please be careful. Some of the things I do are dangerous. It is not my fault if you get hurt. Use your brain, be safe.
