Stanley and Miller Falls

New Ole Tools.

I had a chance to get a large tool lot from a friend. Included in the lot were a # of hand planes, chisels, draw knives and assorted parts and pieces of all kinds. Because I work in education there is a 45 day stretch at the end of every year between pay days. He was kind enough to wait.
I am most proud of the planes and draw knives.

There are some really great chisels as well.

You have to love the old Stanleys. I do believe I have a type 4 #6.

I did a video or two showing a little better of the collection.

I have made a video for my blog only. A bit of what I intend on doing in my shop. And a Safety Cat update.

My intententions are to clean these up and USE them. I should be busy for a month or two.
All comments are welcome. If you see something you know about please tell me.
Thanks Lucas 😉
UPDATE
Planes in till and French Cleats on wall.

UPDATE
I Hung a few french cleats and used construction materials to build some fixtures. I got the tools up off the floor. When time allows I will make better. Now my shop is still in a uproar and in need of cleaning. I have a lot of refurbishing to complete and not to mention hours of sharpening.

Please be careful. Some of the things I do are dangerous. It is not my fault if you get hurt. Use your brain, be safe.

Great score! I really like the full plane till, great collection of planes you have there.

Good call getting rid of the pegboard. It will look much better once that wall is organized.

Thank you Mauricio, I could not pass these up. But it has put my normal projects off for a good long while. I have been needing to go through that bench on the wall and all the mess hanging above it. With a shop my size every inch is needed. Plus it will help me find things instead of spending ten minutes looking for something. I have started tossing a lot of junk out. All scraps and stuff I have saved over the years. The way I see it, if you haven’t used it in 6 months toss it.
Thanks for your time and post.

Dave, you need a bigger shop! That’s quite a score you got there… especially the planes and chisels. I’m having a good internet day, managed to watch both videos without a single pause. Looks like you have your work cut out for you, getting everything reorganized. Have fun!

    • David Bardin says:

Well Ted I am just going to have to take a course in ergonomics. I am glad the interweb gods smiled on you. I am I started a bit today but other chores got in the way. I will try again tomorrow.
      Thanks Ted

I hope Safety Cat is “playing it safe”, you don’t need any more nonhuman little ones!!!

Randy glad you stopped by. Yes redecorating is a head. I am to, I need to toss a bunch of junk out.

Yeah Roger. I scored! I have been getting a piece here and there. A small lot every once and a while. This one was big. It should hold me off. Now I do have 8 of some items. I might have to thin them out a bit.

Holy safety cat there Dave…….What a mother-load of tools!! Pretty cool of Lucas for working that out with you……….WHERE DO YOU START??

There all cool, but those weird looking bits look like you could make elongated holes, like for a breadboard end for a table……..try it….I want some…..

Can’t wait to see the shop transformation…..that’s a lot of new inventory man…….you suck by the way….

I DID see electric outlet in the shop this time, so that’s confirmed…..Electric Dave…..

Good see safety cat in love and doing good……..he’s got the life…..

    Enjoy the bounty!

Jeff I think getting them on the wall to where I can see what I have. I bought a soda blaster for small pieces. I want to clean them all up and get an edge on them.
Those bits are defiantly different. I haven’t thought of that. HMMMM.
I think Dallas on LJ’s said the same thing. I have a wall that all chisels, files, rasps, shaves and knives are going to.
Yes there is power. I need to find me one of those ole disco balls to turn on just fer you.
Safety has been spraying his ODOR on every thing. He gets 2 meals a day and there are 4 females to chase after.
      Thank you Jeff
      Let the work begin.
