Stanley 71 and Veritas replacement Irons

Will a Veritas router iron work on a Stanley 71

I wanted to try and see if the Veritas router Irons would operate on the old Stanley 71’s. A friend of mine Lucas Crenshaw aka KTMM loaned me his for testing.

They come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. I believe they run about $13.50 on average. Comparing that  to what you have to pay for a set of originals for the Stanley 71. Now when the Stanley was new it was a bit cheaper.

I will be buying some of these and I recommend them for use with a Stanley 71.

Please be careful. Some of the things I do are dangerous. It is not my fault if you get hurt. Use your brain, be safe.

Good post Dave – I’ve had the Veritas irons in the shopping carts twice before seeing your video, but didn’t pull the trigger. Next order – I will do it…….thanks for video!

Ebay has lost its mind on the irons. I have seen a set of 3 go for $75. A good quality replacement is nice to have.
    Thanks Roger

Very interesting. It’s amazing that those parts interchange. Good to know for plane lovers.
